Curious, I looked everywhere I could think to look online to find the actual temperature rating for these boots and found "-40" and sketchy ratings of "tundra" or similar. Why so secretive? The tags on the right boot clearly state -4F as the lowest comfortable temperature, and had that been clear above I would never have ordered these. The Celsius low temperature rating is -20, by the way.I have searched for extreme cold rated boots because I suffer Raynaud's and have to keep my feet warm and avoid frostbite, there are few offerings that are lightweight and insulated *enough*.These boots do indeed run at least one size small, the actual boots are much smaller than the photos would have us believe. They are fairly sturdy boots, probably would not pull my socks down around my foot like a lot of boots do, and they do have a soft lining but are none too insulated in the toe area, the footbed is very flat and rigid. I am likely to return these, sadly. If they had had a real ballpark low temperature rating I could have avoided the trouble.
