The escalate is the latest addition to the ease series of boots from Baffin. Like the series name, these boots slip on and off with ease. Temperature rated from 50 degrees Fahrenheit to minus/negative 22 degrees Fahrenheit, these boots are perfect for those frosty days. Easy to pack, easy to wear and easy to use--breeze through this winter with the escalate Twenty-five years ago Baffin Footwear began manufacturing insulated and non-insulated footwear products. While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. Baffin combines leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, which creates a hybrid style of high-performance footwear. This equates to more warmth, better fit, and superior comfort. Baffin boots are different than most shoes and work boots because the sole and midsole are molded to the base in one continuous process. The sole itself is a marvel of modern engineering because it is made up of several advanced thermo-set polymers that are combined together to achieve the right balance of warmth, protection, low weight and grip. Baffin is dedicated to offering boots with functionality and fashion, while still maintaining their legendary performance.
Love that they're easy to get on. They are nice and warm and very stylish. They are a little lose in the heel area so that part of the boot does not feel as snug as I would like. These are wonderful warm boots, very light weight. They only come up "half calf of the leg", which I hoped had been higher, but no big deal. I would have given 5 stars but they put a fabric inside (something like flannel) that makes it hard to slip on with wooly socks.Boots were really comfortable and warm for a afternoon of ice fishing.I purchased these to replace my winter boots from last year. I wear a size 6 (US size) and ordered a 6. It fit me as expected. I can even squeeze into these boots with extra heavy socks on! They are slightly platform on the sole, so when I put them on my foot is about an inch off the ground inside the boot. The drawstring cords are a nifty feature, especially the one that seals off the top of the boot. The other drawstring cord that tightens up the shaft of the boot (like laces) is a different story. It works well, but when I get it tight as I need, there is a lot of excess. So the issue is finding what to do with this extra cord. I have tucked it into my boots, which does the trick for now. These are warm thus far, I haven't worn them on a really cold day yet. The traction is great, no slipping. The blue color is as shown in the photo. I would say that overall I am satisfied with these boots. It's light b and warm. Love itThe first pair were too small - I'm basically an 8 1/2 - Had to go to a size 10. But I work outside in these with snow and what ever here in West Colorado. So thicker socks help with warmth. These boots are a fun turquoise color even though they show dirt. The best part about these is the extremely light weight, perfect for old injuries in the knees and ankles. It's like wearing house slippers out in the snow and staying dry and warm... (my next pair will a dark color) LoL !The shaft of boot is too flexible. The inside is warm, but made of fleece and "sticks" to socks when you try to put them on. They require too much effort in pulling up and on. Laces are hard to tighten. Would recommend wearing only when you have to keep them on for hours at a time, instead of taking three minutes to put on and only wear for a short trip to the mailbox etc. These boots are ok but nothing special about them. I purchased a 10, I usually wear a 9-91/2 depending on the shoe. They are way too big. I have been wearing them ice fishing, they have ok traction on the ice but aren't overly warm. They are a a bit of a pain to put on and have way too much lace, with no where to put the excess. But I do like the looks of them, online color is true The only real problem is that it took 12 days to get them. I find that to be to be an excessive amount of time. I really like these boots except for two things. One. They are kind of big in the ankle and hard to get tightened but not a deal breaker. Two THEY DON’T BREATH.This mean at the end of my 14 hour shift and I stick my hand in my hand has water droplets on it. This is -10. At -40 this is going to be a deal breaker. And because of the hight they are almost impossible to dry over a heat vent so now I have to carry a hair dryer to get get my boots dry every morning. So if I just wanted something to go around the block or walk the dog these would be great boots but if you work outside BewareI'm disappointed in this product. Not only did my feet freeze at -3, my legs barely fit around the boot and I have to wear my jeans over the boot causing my pant legs to get wet. They are very flimsy and not what I expected at all. Quite frankly I won't be wearing them and I'm going to have to buy another pair that actually stay warm. I ordered a size 9 and it feels like the heel is rubbing on my heel (plastic part higher on the boot heel) these boots are not good for cold weather, there's really not much to them and I'm very disappointed. I won't order these again. SorryMy wife is a photographer who goes out every single day to take pictures of the sunrise, and local wildlife. These boots are perfect throughout fall and winter for that and more. Good treads, easy slip-on, and nothing to tie-up because it has those pull laces with locking thingamajigs.Super light and very warm winter boot. Great in the snow and deep snow because of their height. Absolutely terrible on ice or patches of ice. Purchase some sort of slip on ice cleat if you get these for trails other wise stick to snow or dry surface only.
